Used Book Sale

May 19th & 20th, 2012

During his lifetime, Alexander DeMenil (1849-1928) had one of the city’s most envied libraries.  You’ll have your own opportunity to collect books at the Chatillon-DeMenil House’s 6th annual Used Book Sale.

Thousands of books are priced from 50 cents to one dollar in the historic house’s largest benefit sale yet.

Our friends at the Lemp Brewery Business Park have offered us space just across from the Mansion at 900 Cherokee Street.

We’ve already collected truckloads of books – to add yours, drop them off at the House Weds – Sat between 11 am and 2 pm.  Volunteer sorters and collecters are still needed! Click here to learn about volunteering for this event.

Saturday May 19th: Preview Sale, 9am – 10 am, $5
Saturday May 19th: 10am – 4pm
Sunday May 20th: Bag Sale - 12pm – 4pm
For more information, call (314)771-5828 or contact demenil@sbcglobal.net

Check out Perennial’s craft station at our Book Sale on Sunday May 20th!

After you snatch a bag of old books at the Chatillon-DeMenil House’s 6th annual Used Book Sale, join Perennial for a crafting session. Use the books from the sale to create planters, iphone docks, and upcycled memo pads. Perennial folks will be there to guide you step-by-step through all three upcycling projects! $5 suggested donation to support Perennial.
